Cops: Mastic woman arrested under Leandra’s Law after car crash
A Mastic woman driving with her three-year-old daughter was arrested Saturday under Leandra’s Law after she crashed her car on Sound Avenue, Riverhead Town police said.
Janvena Minter, 36, was driving a 2000 Hyundai around 1:30 a.m. when the car accident occurred a between Horton and Roanoke avenues, police said.
No other details about the accident were immediately available.
The child was turned over to a family member who responded to the scene, officials said.
Leandra’s Law makes it a felony to drive drunk with a child 15 or younger in the car.
