Police needs tips on portable industrial vacuum theft in Riverhead

A portable industrial vacuum was stolen from a yard in Riverhead and police are looking for the public’s help to identify the person or people who took it. 

A 2012 Hurricane Vacuum Loader, model 500, was reported stolen on Jan. 19, 2018. It was last seen on Dec. 18, 2017, in a fenced in area at 1794 West Main St. in Riverhead. The keys had been left in the ignition.

Police did not say how much the large piece of equipment is worth.

The VIN number of the stolen equipment is 1D9H2UF28CW048017, police said.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information can make an anonymous tip by calling 1-800-220-TIPS or texting “SCPD” and your message to “CRIMES” (274637). An email can be sent through www.tipsubmit.com.
