Hanover Bank expands to Riverhead with third Suffolk County branch location

The newest Hanover Bank full-service branch just landed in Riverhead.

Hanover Community Bank opened its third Suffolk County location and added its 11th branch earlier this month at 205 Osborn Ave. in Riverhead. It is a ground-floor tenant in the new The East End luxury apartment building.

The new banking center offers a full range of personal, business and municipal banking services. Its staff of business bankers offers local businesses expertise and support for growth.

The bank’s leadership says the downtown Riverhead location strengthens the company’s ability to serve the East End region.

Michael Puorro, chairman and CEO of Hanover Community Bank, said Riverhead “stood out” as a market that could benefit from the bank’s relationship-focused approach and professional expertise, which he said could make a “meaningful difference.”

“Riverhead is a natural fit for Hanover’s continued growth across Long Island,” Mr. Puorro said in a statement. “The community is experiencing a remarkable transformation, and we see tremendous opportunity to partner with local businesses, families, community organizations, and public-sector leaders.”

Hanover Bank opens in Riverhead with a major downtown revitalization effort currently underway with the construction of its Town Square.

The community bank says its mission is to provide commercial and personal banking products and personalized financial services. Those include 24-hour ATM service, free interest-bearing checking, telephone banking, mobile and online banking, and safe deposit boxes.

Its banking services also include multifamily and commercial mortgages, residential loans, business loans and lines of credit.

The Riverhead branch joins the bank’s Long Island locations in Hauppauge and Port Jefferson. Mr. Puorro said the Riverhead branch represents a significant milestone in Hanover Bank’s long-term expansion across Suffolk County and the greater New York metropolitan area.

“Our strategy has never been simply to open branches; it is to become part of the communities we serve,” Mr. Puorro added. “That begins with hiring talented professionals who know the local market because they live and work there. Their insight allows us to make decisions close to our clients and deliver the tailored service that defines Hanover. That is what it means to move Forward Together.”
