Fired up for Santa Claus in downtown Riverhead

Organizers of downtown Riverhead’s annual holiday bonfire had the flames roaring at the 4 p.m. start of the popular event along the Peconic River Saturday evening.

Santa Claus was expected to arrive by boat at 5 p.m.

The event is run by the downtown Business Improvement District’s management association.
