State police: Three DWI arrests in Riverhead, Riverside

State troopers reported three people were arrested for driving drunk in Riverhead and Riverside last week, according to a press release.

Last Tuesday, 35-year-old Isana Gitsis of Brooklyn was stopped in the 7-Eleven parking lot on Old Country Road in Riverhead, the press release states. A state trooper found Ms. Gitsis was intoxicated and arrested her at the scene. She was charged with misdemeanor DWI and released with a future date in Riverhead Town court.

The next day, a Texas man — 22-year-old Micah Smith — was pulled over on East Main Street in Riverhead, according to the press release. Mr. Smith was also driving drunk and was charged with misdemeanor DWI, state police said. He was arraigned in Riverhead Town court and released on $1,000 bail. He is due back in court next Wednesday.

State police also said a 22-year-old man from Shirley was arrested after he crashed while driving drunk on County Road 105 in Riverside. Police determined that Alexis Anavisca was drunk after the single-car accident and arrested him at the scene. He was charged with misdemeanor DWI and released with a return date in Southampton Town court.
