Cops: Man broke order of protection, called woman 72 times

A homeless man violated a stay-away order by going to a Riverhead woman’s house and calling her 72 times over three days, Riverhead Town police said.

Anthony Calloway, 37, now faces two counts of felony criminal contempt and harassment and marijuana possession charges following his arrest Tuesday, according to a police report.

Cops said the woman who had a court-issued protection order against Mr. Calloway told police Mr. Calloway came to her residence at 7 a.m. Monday and called her numerous times.

Police found and apprehended Mr. Calloway, who had marijuana on him at the time of his arrest, according to a police report.

He was arraigned in Riverhead town court and released on $1,000 cash bail, a court clerk said. He’s due back in court on April 7.
