Police offer reward for arrest of Wading River burglar

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and the Riverhead Police Department are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the person who broke into a restaurant in Wading River last month.

Police said a man broke into North Fork Bacon on Jan. 24 and stole an unknown amount of cash from the register around 12:30 a.m.

Security video shows the man was wearing a hooded sweatshirt, gloves, pants and sneakers at the time of the break-in.

It also shows the suspect was on foot in the area prior to entering the location and may have been seen by passing motorists.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
