Cops: Five arrests made in DWI patrols

After increasing patrols looking for drunken drivers over the Fourth of July weekend, Riverhead police arrested five people, according to a news release.

Of those arrested, four were charged with misdemeanor DWI: Alfredo Gray, 41, of Riverhead; Debra Alaimo, 49, of Riverhead; Isobel Morgenstern, 57, of Fairfield, Ct.; and Daniel White Jr., 60, of Riverhead.

A fifth person, Edgar Escalente, 41 of Riverhead, was arrested Thursday and charged with aggravated unlicensed driving, police said.

The police patrols were funded through the town’s Stop DWI program and the East End DWI Task Force. Other patrols are planned for later this year, police said.
