Cops: Suspect in Riverhead bank robbery caught

The man who allegedly robbed the Capital One in downtown Riverhead Tuesday was connected to two other bank robberies and arrested Friday by Suffolk County police, according to a press release. 

Vincent Allen, 30, who is homeless, was arrested in connection with bank robberies at the Bank of America in Commack and the TD Bank in Patchogue, police said. The Patchogue bank robbery occurred April 23 and the other bank was robbed Friday, police said.

CapitalOneRiverhead Town police will charge Mr. Allen with two counts of third-degree robbery for Tuesday’s robbery, police said.

Mr. Allen was held overnight following his arrest Friday and will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip Saturday, police said.

The robbery in Riverhead Tuesday occurred at 5:20 p.m.
