Riverhead Town police are on the hunt for a 22-year-old man who allegedly stabbed another man after a large fight broke out early Sunday morning in Calverton.

The victim identified the suspect as Demetris Brown of Riverhead. The victim, who was not identified by police, was treated at the scene and transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center for treatment, police said.

The fight broke out about 3:30 a.m. outside Cinco De Mayo on Middle Country Road in Calverton during what police described as a “highly publicized ’90s style Old School Hip-Hop R&B party.” Police found about 75 to 100 people fighting in the parking lot, the roadway and in a parking lot across the street. Several surrounding police agencies responded to help disperse the crowd.

Mr. Brown allegedly fled the area following the stabbing, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Riverhead Police Department at 631-727-4500, ext. 328.
