A Greenport man was arrested Wednesday after he reportedly got into a dispute with a woman in Wading River, breaking an order of protection she had against him, according to a Riverhead Town police press release.
Cops were called to 3rd Street in Wading River about 4:25 p.m. and learned that 39-year-old Joseph Brown III had been in an argument with a woman at the property, according to the press release.
Riverhead and Southold police officers investigated and found Mr. Brown at his home in Greenport. He was arrested by Southold police and charged with felony criminal contempt, police said.
He was turned over to Riverhead officers to be arraigned, police said.
