Photos: Bishop McGann-Mercy Class of 2016 graduation
The 108 graduates of Bishop McGann-Mercy High School’s Class of 2016 celebrated the school’s 56th commencement ceremony Wednesday.
Bishop William Murphy of the Diocese of Rockville Center and Auxilary Bishop Nelson Perez were in attendance to preside over the graduates, as well as Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kathleen Walsh. Bishop Murphy addressed the graduates, along with Salutatorian Nathan Sandler and Valedictorian Katharine Brownfiel.
The ceremony began at 5 p.m. and was preceded by a graduation Liturgy at 3 p.m. in the school auditorium. Because of inclement weather the group photo took place in the gymnasium and the procession was around the perimeter of the auditorium instead of outdoors.
