Reward offered for information on who caused vehicle fires

Riverhead Town police and Suffolk County Crime Stoppers are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the person who set multiple vehicles on fire in the early morning hours of Aug. 10.

Police said someone entered a fenced yard at 1794 W. Main St. and set fire to multiple vehicles, including the two pictured above and below.

At the time of the incident, police said the Riverhead Fire Department received a report of a dumpster fire just before 3 a.m. behind a suite at Tanger Outlet Center. Responding units determined that a storage building and vehicles were actually on fire on the West Main Street property, just behind Tanger.

The Suffolk County Arson Squad responded to investigate.
