June D. O’Hara

June D. O’Hara, formerly of Calverton, N.Y., passed away peacefully March 16, 2019, at Acadia Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Riverhead. She was 89.Having never known her father, John Radoslovich, who drowned in a tugboat accident three months before her birth, she was raised by her mother, Dorothy Radoslovich (later Mrs. James Binger), and her maternal grandmother, Lillie Weisbecker, in Jamaica, N.Y.

June was a bookkeeper by profession and therefore always kept meticulous records. Found among her files was a bill for her birth, totaling hospital charges of $50.

June was married to her first husband, Clifford Donald O’Hara, from 1949 until his death in 1994. They resided in Ridgewood, Queens, and later Freeport, from where they carpooled to Manhattan daily. She was an avid quilter, winning many awards as a member of The Long Island Quilters Guild.

In later years, June made many friends while living at the Foxwood Village community in Calverton, where she was a regular at bingo. In 2004, she married longtime acquaintance Edward Poulson of Arizona, who unfortunately passed away a short time later.

She is survived by a sister, Janice (Binger) Young of Flanders, and her husband, Neil; a brother, Walter Binger of Aquebogue, and his wife, Nancy; and nieces Victoria (Binger) Morton and Christina (Binger) Diamond; along with beloved grandniece, Olivia, and grandnephew, Lucas. June had no children of her own.

A private service and burial alongside husband Clifford will take place at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale.
