Kenneth A. Rogers

It is with great sadness that the family of Ken Rogers announces his passing on Dec. 21, 2018, at the age of 73.

He was born Sept. 15, 1945, and grew up in Flanders. He graduated from Riverhead High School, Class of 1964, and after 26 years with Brookhaven National Laboratory as a senior technical specialist, he retired with his wife, Barbara, to Tennessee and then Williamsburg, Va.

He was a member of the Flanders Fire Department for a number of years, a Boy Scout leader, youth baseball coach and mentor to many of the kids in Flanders, who knew him as “Uncle Ken.” He loved the game of golf and his two grandsons, Ryan and Reed.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Barbara (née Sterzenbach); his daughter, Kim (Rogers) Overton; his son-in-law, Roland Overton; and his two grandsons, Ryan Overton and Reed Overton, whom he loved dearly and was so very proud of.
