Southampton Blotter: Drug possession, DWIs and car theft

Southampton Town police arrested four men, including three from Riverhead, on drug possession charges Saturday in Hampton Bays.

William Recino Salvarenga, 20; Saul Escobar, 19; and Isidiro Deleongalindo, 26, all of Riverhead; and Walter Nunez, 21, of Southampton were arrested after they were found to be in possession of cocaine, marijuana and alcohol on a West Landing Road property around 12:15 a.m., police said. The arrests were made after an extra patrol was requested for the location, officials said.

The men were all charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and open consumption of an alcoholic beverage, a violation.

• New York State Police arrested a Port Jefferson man Saturday for driving drunk in Flanders.

David Plath, 22, was stopped for speeding on Flanders Road and police learned he was intoxicated, officials said. He was charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated.

• Southampton Town police arrested a Flanders woman for driving with a revoked license in Riverside last Tuesday.

Roxy Dozier, 50, was stopped around 4:05 p.m. for driving without a license plate near State Route 24 and Enterprise Zone Drive when police learned her license was revoked for a previous DWI conviction, officials said. She was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor, and two traffic violations.

• A Copiague man was arrested for driving with a suspended license in Riverside last Tuesday.

Eric Krems, 37, was stopped for vehicle and traffic violations on Riverleigh Avenue around 10:15 a.m. when police said they learned he was driving with a suspended license. He was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and three traffic violations.

• Police arrested a Mastic woman Saturday for driving with a suspended license in Riverside.

Ivonne Munoz, 37, was stopped for speeding near Flanders Road and Vail Avenue around 9:30 a.m. when police learned she had a suspended license, officials said. She was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and two traffic violations.

• A Sound Beach man was arrested Friday for driving with a suspended license in Northampton.

James Randazzo, 58, was seen driving while using a cellphone near Lake Avenue and Lake View Drive around 7:25 a.m. Police said they learned he had a suspended license and had switched license plates on his unregistered and uninsured car.

He was charged with third-degree aggravated operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and multiple traffic violations.

• Police arrested a Riverhead man for driving with a suspended license in Riverside last Wednesday.

After Thomas Edler, 22, was stopped for speeding around 8:30 p.m. near Peconic Avenue and Flanders Road, police learned his license was suspended, officials said. He was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and multiple traffic violations.

• A man’s car was reportedly stolen from a parking spot at the 7-Eleven in Flanders last Tuesday, police said. The victim said he left his car running with the keys in the ignition while he ran inside to buy a cup of coffee. When he returned minutes later, his car wasn’t there, officials said. The police department issued a description of the car, which was later found unoccupied by a New York State trooper on Old Quogue Road with the keys inside it, officials said. Southampton Town police said they would follow up with the 7-Eleven owner to check video footage, police said. No arrest has been made.

• Police reported that a Flanders man heard a loud noise last Saturday night and saw a car drive away. Two days later, he noticed a 10-inch crack in his front windshield, officials said. Additional information was unavailable.

• A Flanders woman’s car, which was parked in her driveway on Quogue Avenue, was reportedly damaged last Monday after an unknown person threw a rock through the back window, police said.

• A Flanders woman reported last Sunday that she couldn’t find her red wallet, which contained her ID, bus pass and $27, police said. No arrest has been made.

• Police reported that the windshield of a Flanders man’s 1995 Ford pickup truck was destroyed sometime overnight last Sunday. No arrest has been made, officials said.

Those who are named in police reports have not been convicted of any crime or violation. The charges against them may later be reduced or withdrawn, or they may be found innocent.
