Charlotte L. Sprague, a former resident of Yaphank, died Sunday morning, Nov. 25, at her residence in Howland Township, Ohio. She was 93 years old.
She was born Jan. 1, 1919, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the daughter of William W. and Charlotte L. (Hoppie) Ziegler, and resided in Yaphank before moving to Howland Twp. with her daughter in May of this year.
Ms. Sprague was married to Frederick S. G. Sprague on Dec. 14, 1946, and was a retired dietician with Eastern Long Island Hospital. She attended Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Cortland and enjoyed sewing and cooking.
Survivors include a daughter, Victoria L. (Walt) Jones of Howland Twp.; two grandchildren, Thomas M. (Kimberly) Jones of Madison, S.D., and Stacy M. Jones of Howland Twp.; and five great-grandchildren, Kenneth Peterson, Alyssa Jones, Zachary Plesea, Andrew Jones and Abigale Jones.
Her parents; her husband, Frederick, in 1949; and a brother, Charles Ziegler, all preceded her in death.
Graveside services will be held Monday, Dec. 3, at 1 p.m. at Sterling Cemetery in Greenport. Arrangements are entrusted to DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home.
