Cops: Drunk driver crossed into oncoming traffic

A Rocky Point man was arrested for drunken driving early Saturday after police spotted him driving into oncoming traffic in Riverside, Southampton Town police said.

Paul Becker, 49, was seen driving in and out of his lane on Flanders Road near Old Quogue Road about 1:05 a.m., according to a police statement. A police officer pulled over Mr. Becker on the roadway and found he was “operating in an intoxicated condition,” the statement reads.

He was arrested at the scene and charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, police said.
