A woman was arrested Monday morning after crashing into a truck on Main Road in Jamesport while allegedly driving under the influence of drugs, Riverhead Town police said.

Highway patrol officer Dennis Cavanagh said the woman, who was not yet named by police, was heading east in a tan Oldsmobile about 11:15 a.m. when she veered into the westbound lane, crashing into a Asplundh Services utility truck in front of the Jamesport Country Store.

The woman was taken by Riverhead Ambulance Corps volunteers to Peconic Bay Medical Center for chest injures from an airbag, Officer Cavanagh said.

The truck’s driver was not injured.

Westbound traffic was stopped for a short time following the crash, Jamesport Fire Department officials said.
