Reward offered for info on Dark Horse burglary

A reward of up to $5,000 has been offered for information that leads to the arrest of a man who allegedly stole $200 from the register of downtown Riverhead’s Dark Horse restaurant in September.

According to police, the man — who said he was wearing large headphones around his neck, with black and possibly red coloring with metal on the frame of the headphones — entered the restaurant sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. on Sept. 26, 2014. He removed $200 from the register, police said.

Police described the man as black and said he was wearing blue jeans with white embroidery on the rear pockets, a brown hooded jacket, and a white shirt at the time of the incident.

A reward of up to $5,000 has been offered by Suffolk County Crime Stoppers that information that leads to the suspect’s arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
