State Police: Riverhead man drove drunk with daughter in car
A Riverhead man was arrested for violating Leandra’s Law — a felony aggravated driving while intoxicated charge — following a traffic stop on Route 104 early Sunday morning, New York State police said.
Jose Lopez, 31, was driving with his 14-year-old daughter in the car shortly after midnight. He was found to be intoxicated, police said.
He was transported to the Suffolk County Jail in Riverside and held for a Sunday morning arraignment in Southold Town Justice Court.
Mr. Lopez was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.
