Cops: Two arrested on bench warrants in Riverhead Sunday
Two men were turned over to Southampton Police in Riverhead Sunday after they were caught on active bench warrants for failing to show up in court, according to a police statement.
Southampton Town police said 34-year-old Alfred Cowell of Riverhead was arrested at Riverhead Police Headquarters about 10:45 a.m. Later that day, 41-year-old David Haugland of Manahawkin, N.J. was arrested at headquarters, police said.
Both men were taken back to Southampton Town headquarters, where they were held for arraignment in Town Court Monday morning, authorities said.
