Photos: Celebrating Thanksgiving at Town Senior Center
Thanksgiving came early at the Riverhead Town Senior Center.
Enjoying a classic meal of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, corn, pumpkin pie and apple ciders, about 160 seniors attended the celebration Thursday afternoon. DJ Tom Parris supplied some tunes for dancing.
The afternoon featured a celebration of 38 residents who are in their 90s. Town councilman John Dunleavy handed out proclamations and told them about the upcoming “Senior Discount Week,” which is Dec. 6 through 12 at downtown merchants in Riverhead.
