State police blotter: Woman arrested on multiple drug charges

New York State Police arrested a Hampton Bays woman on drug charges in Riverhead Tuesday.

Katherine Moncana, 25, was driving on Route 58 when she was stopped for having a cracked windshield and an illegal tint on her windows, according to a police news release. She was arrested and charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, three counts of a controlled substance not in its original container and unlawful possession of marijuana.

She was released with tickets and a future date in Riverhead town court.

• An East Quoque woman was arrested for driving drunk in Riverside Friday, according to a state police release.

State police said Kimberly Quarty, 47, was stopped on County Road 104 for moving from her lane unsafely and driving across hazard markings. She was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and released with a future court date, police said.

• A 23-year-old woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated in Riverside Saturday, state troopers said.

According to a news release, Alyssa Taverna of Mastic was driving on County Route 51 when she was pulled over by police and charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, officials said.

• Nestor Rodriguez of Riverhead was arrested for drunk driving in Flanders on Sunday, according to state police.

The 29-year-old was reportedly stopped for moving from his lane unsafely on Flanders Road. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and released after he was given a date to appear in court.
