Riverhead Blotter: Ridge man arrested for driving with suspended license

Riverhead police arrested a Ridge man for driving with a suspended license on Sound Avenue in Riverhead Friday.

Charles Taylor, 28, was stopped around 8:20 a.m. for an expired inspection when police found he was also driving with a suspended license.

Police also recovered a bowl, glass jar and grinder and glass bong from the vehicle.

He was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

• Shanequa Cunningham, 32, of Riverhead was arrested for second-degree criminal contempt, a class A misdemeanor, and second-degree harassment, a violation, following a domestic dispute at a West Main Street residence Sunday around 3:15 p.m., according to Riverhead police.

• State police arrested Ian Patterson, 24, of Bellport for driving drunk on Route 25 in Wading River Sunday around 5:55 a.m. He was charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated.

• Riverhead police arrested James-Dylan Grant, 21, of Coram last Thursday after he was caught driving with a license that had been suspended 19 times.

He was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and turned over to Suffolk County Police due to an active warrant, officials said.

• Marilyn Worlds, 44, of Riverhead was arrested for petit larceny last Thursday around 5 p.m. after she allegedly stole $356 worth of merchandise from Walmart.

• Riverhead police arrested Brenda Henderson, 52, of Mastic for driving without a valid license on Pulaski Street last Thursday around 5:30 p.m. She was charged with misdemeanor aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

• A Riverhead man was arrested for driving without a valid license last Tuesday around 2 a.m.

According to police, Josue Fajardo-Villavicencio, 21, was stopped on East Main Street near Fishel Avenue after he failed to stop at a stop sign.

Police also discovered he was in possession of marijuana and driving with a suspended license.

Mr. Fajardo-Villavicencio was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and released on $100 cash bail, officials said.

• Brandon Mims, 28, of Greenport was arrested for driving without a valid license last Tuesday, police said.

During a traffic stop on Route 25 in Calverton around 9:15 p.m., police found Mr. Mims driving without a valid license and without a court-ordered interlock device.

He was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and driving without an interlock device, both misdemeanors, and released on $200 bail, according to police.

Those who are named in police reports have not been convicted of any crime or violation. The charges against them may later be reduced or withdrawn, or they may be found innocent.
