Riverhead Blotter: Man arrested for attempted break-in

Riverhead Town police arrested a 26-year-old man after he attempted to break into a home on Wilson Avenue last Tuesday around 2 a.m.

Police also caught Tremel Kelly of Riverhead driving a stolen 2006 Hyundai Sonata. He was charged with second-degree criminal trespassing, a misdemeanor, and third-degree criminal mischief and fourth-degree grand larceny, both felonies.

• Nicholle Diana Reynolds, 29, of Mattituck was arrested on Sound Avenue in Riverhead last Tuesday for driving without a valid license. She was charged with misdemeanor aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and transferred to Southampton Town police due to an active warrant, police said.

• A Home Depot employee alerted police last Tuesday around 8:30 p.m. that five unknown youths used a forklift inside the store without permission. They fled the area in an unknown vehicle, officials said.

• Following a dispute over a cellphone last Thursday around midnight, a woman reportedly hit a man with her white Hyundai Sonata at the Fairfield Pines complex on Roanoke Avenue in Riverhead.

The man was not injured, police said. No charges have been filed.

Those who are named in police reports have not been convicted of any crime or violation. The charges against them may later be reduced or withdrawn, or they may be found innocent.
