Southampton Blotter: DWI arrest, rims and Grady White stolen

A 48-year-old Miller Place man was arrested for drunken driving and driving without a license late Saturday, police said. George Smith was arrested on Sound Avenue about 10:30 p.m., according to a report. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, according to a report. He was held for morning arraignment.

• A $15,000 Grady-White boat was reported stolen from Mill Road after its owner realized it had been removed from where it was being stored sometime in August, police said. The boat’s owner had been storing the 25-foot Trophy Pro boat at the Mill Road location for close to three years, according to a report.

The owner had been asked to remove the boat from storage in August, and the boat was gone shorty after, a man who had been renting him the storage space said, explaining he thought the owner had taken the boat, according to a report. The boat’s owner said he did not remove the boat, and reported the boat stolen Monday morning, according to a report. Police are investigating.

• At least three sets of alloy rims and car tires were reported stolen from three vehicles at a Route 58 car dealership last Wednesday, according to reports.

Police said the rims and tires are valued at about $3,500 a set. Detectives are investigating.
