Maria Mollik

Maria Mollik of Flanders died Aug. 25 at Westhampton Care Center. She was 88.

She was born in Czechoslovakia on Oct. 5, 1921, to Stephen and Berta Rod (Hlatka) Hucek. At age 15, she moved with her family to Argentina, where she married Emil Karl Mollik in 1941. The couple moved to the United States in 1943, living first in Brooklyn and later settling in Flanders.

A homemaker, Ms. Mollik enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and keeping up the house.

Predeceased by her husband in 1992, she is survived by her children, Martha, of Flanders, Mario, of New Jersey, and Emil, of Speonk; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Private cremation was handled by Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home of Riverhead.
