Margaret Louise Scully

Margaret Louise Scully of Riverhead died Dec. 10 at Stony Brook University Medical Center. She was 88.

She was born April 20, 1923, in New York City to William and Margaret (Ellis) James. She moved to Riverhead in 1976 and was a clerk at the Long Island Water Corporation in Lynbrook.

She wrote inspirational poetry and poems about her friends, they said, and she loved to give them copies.

Predeceased by her husband, Joseph Scully, in 1986, Ms. Scully is survived by her nephew, Steven Venturi, of Woodstock, N.Y.

A service was held Dec. 13 at Cutchogue Cemetery, Pastor Gordon Bienvenue officiating. Arrangements were handled by Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead.
