Longtime Riverhead resident Judith E. Berdan died Aug. 3 at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital. She was 70 years old.
She was born Nov. 7, 1941, in Riverhead to Gertrude (Anderson) and Forrest Berdan Sr. and graduated from Riverhead High School in 1959.
Predeceased by her daughter Denise Daniel in 1999 and her sisters Patricia Graff in 2004 and Karen Barry in 1991, she is survived by her daughters Sandra Whitlock of Temple, Ga., and Sarajo Langley of LaGrange, Ga.; her sons, Kenneth Langley of Riverhead and Kevin Langley of Waco, Ga.; her sister Beth Lightner of Banburne, Ala., and her brother, Forrest Berdan Jr. of Germany; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will take place Wednesday, Aug. 8, from 7 to 9 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A service will be held Thursday, Aug. 9, at 11 a.m. at Riverhead Cemetery, the Rev. Jerry Hill officiating, with interment to follow.
