Edith J. May

Edith J. May of Riverhead died June 13 at the Riverhead Care Center. She was 76 years old.

She was born Dec. 24, 1936, in Koln, Germany, to Edmund and Margareta Daum. She graduated from high school and most recently was a secretary at Bay Shore Nursing Home.

Ms. May is survived by her husband, Richard; her sons, Allen, of Ridge, and Donald, of Connecticut; her daughters, Inge Peters of New Hampshire and Edith May-Sanchez of Mastic; her stepdaughter, Lauren, of Florida; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was predeceased by a stepson, James Harder, in 2011.

Private arrangements and cremation were handled by Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead.
