Angelo Scordato

Angelo Scordato of Riverhead died May 4 at Winthrop Hospital in Mineola. He was 85.

He was born April 20, 1925, in Brooklyn to Salvatore and Celsina (Magleoni) Scordato. After high school, he served in the U.S. Navy, attaining the rank of yeoman, second class. He then earned a masters degree from Pace University.

On Sept. 14, 1952, he married Shirley Dellosso in Sheepshead Bay.

Mr. Scordato worked as a traffic manager for W.S. Kirkpatrick in New Jersey. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Riverhead.

According to his family, he enjoyed pool, pinochle, horseshoes and playing the saxophone. He also loved reading, his family said.

He is survived by his wife; his sons, John, Steven and Salvatore; his sister, Jennie Tolomundo; and four grandchildren.

Family received visitors May 9 at R.H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead. Funeral services were held May 10 at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church. Interment followed at Calverton National Cemetery.
