Karl H. Fleischman

Karl H. Fleischman of Jamesport died Jan. 9 in Manhattan. He was 47.

Born Feb. 18, 1963, in Riverhead to Joan (Seaman) and Russell Fleischman Sr., he was a 1981 graduate of Riverhead High School, where he played football and played trumpet in both the school and stage bands, and a 1985 graduate of Lebanon Valley College in Anneville, Pa.

Mr. Fleischman, a salesman for Penny Lumber in Mattituck, was a past president of the Eastern Long Island Fishing & Surf Club and was active with the Polish Town Fair for many years. He played trumpet with the Silver Brass Orchestra and for the reenactment of the Hejnal at St. Isidore R.C. Church in Riverhead.

Predeceased by his father in 1998, he is survived by his mother, of Riverhead, and his siblings, Russell, of Tennessee, and Joan Andruszkiewicz of Aquebogue.

Visiting hours were held Jan. 11 at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead. Funeral services took place Jan. 13 at First Congregational Church of Riverhead. Interment was at Riverhead Cemetery.
