George C. Maxwell of Riverhead died June 26 at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead. He was 71.
He was born Oct. 22, 1939, in Kearny, N.J., to Florence (McCann) and George Maxwell. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a stockbroker at Bear Stearns in Manhattan.
Mr. Maxwell is survived by his wife, Anna (née Iacono); his daughter, Karen; his sons, George, Christopher Zawrotny of Florida, and Timothy Zawrotny and Anthony Aquanno, both of New York; his brothers, Robert and Donald; and 11 grandchildren.
Arrangements are in the care of Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead, where visiting hours will take place Tuesday, June 28, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A service will be held at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29, followed by interment at Calverton National Cemetery.
