Frederick J. Gerken

Frederick J. Gerken of Riverhead died Oct. 4 at Peconic Bay Medical Center. He was 76.

He was born Feb. 22, 1935, in Queens to Frederick and Florence (Munson) Gerken.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Fordham University in New York and worked as a pharmacist at Commonwealth Pharmacy in Bellerose Village, N.Y.

Mr. Gerken is survived by his wife, Doris; his children, Patty Feldman of Smithtown,  Scott, of Hauppauge, and Michael, of North Carolina; and four grandchildren.

Visiting hours will take place Thursday, Oct. 6, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead, where a service will be conducted at 8 p.m.
