Robert Levasseur of Riverhead died April 26 at Stony Brook University Medical Center. He was 53.
He was born Aug. 15, 1958, in Fort Kent, Maine, to Albert and Jeannette Levasseur. A 1976 graduate of Rocky Point High School, he served in the U.S. Air Force from 1979 to 1983 and again from 1985 to 1989, attaining the rank of staff sergeant.
Mr. Levasseur was a driver for Four Ones Taxi Service in Hampton Bays. He worked long hours and in his free time enjoyed reading, family members said.
He is survived by his parents, of Riverhead; his brothers, Peter, of Manning, S.C., Patrick, of Holbrook, and Richard, of Shirley, and his sister, Lisa, of Center Moriches.
Visiting hours will take place Sunday, April 29, from 7 to 9 p.m., with a service at 8:30 p.m., at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A service will also be held there Monday, April 30, at 10 a.m., followed by interment at Calverton National Cemetery.
