Richard W. Lambertson

Richard W. Lambertson died Feb. 16 at his home in Riverhead. He was 73 years old.

Born Jan. 28, 1940, in Glen Cove to Wilfred and Ellen Lambertson, he worked as a truck driver with Local 282. 

Family members said he enjoyed NASCAR, fishing, remote control planes and drag racing.

Mr. Lambertson is survived by his wife, Rachel, of Riverhead; his children, Richard Jr. and William, both of Holbrook, Constance, of Patchogue, and Robert, of Mastic; his sister, Helen; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors Monday, Feb. 18, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral Mass will be offered Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 10:15 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Riverhead. Cremation will be private.
