Southampton Blotter: Riverhead man arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance

Jameula Carter, 37, of Riverhead was arrested Jan. 9 for criminal possession of a controlled substance, according to Southampton Town police.

Mr. Carter was allegedly seen stumbling southbound down Old Quogue Road. Police found Mr. Cater to be under the influence of PCP. He was carrying an open container of vodka as well. After searching him, police found Mr. Carter in possession of two Newport cigarettes dipped in PCP.

He was arrested and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and two violations.

• Kristen Davis, 35, of Manorville was arrested in Riverside Sunday night for driving without a license, according to reports.

Ms. Davis was stopped for driving with inadequate headlights on Flanders Road. Police found that her driving privilege was suspended for six license suspensions on four dates. Ms. Davis was arrested and charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and two violations.

• Jonathan Villaortega, 27, of Riverhead was arrested last Tuesday at 11:56 p.m. for driving while intoxicated, according to reports.

A passing motorist reported an erratic driver was headed north on Flanders Road. Police located the vehicle and observed the driver, Mr. Villaortega, failed to maintain his lane by crossing over and driving on the shoulder.

After the vehicle was pulled over, police said Mr. Villaortega was observed having glassy eyes and an odor of alcohol on his breath. He performed poorly on sobriety tests and failed a breathalyzer test. He was arrested at Cross River Drive in Aquebogue and charged with two accounts of DWI and a violation.

Those who are named in police reports have not been convicted of any crime or violation. The charges against them may later be reduced or withdrawn, or they may be found innocent.
