Joan Sheehan was born Aug. 12, 1932, in New York City and is survived by her sister Betty Sheehan, who resides in Jackson Heights and their dear cat, Megan, as well as her nieces and nephews, Tom Weigel, Mary Susan Shaffer, George Locke, Monica Claire Antonie, Kevin Doherty, Kathy Mazzo and Diane Coleman and their respective children. He was born July 22, 1952, in Orange, N.J. to Harold and Lillie (Bland) Bennett. Mr. Bennett worked for Grumman as a stock keeper and also served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. (more…)

Jack Kanas of Center Moriches, passed away peacefully at his home March 16, surrounded by family and friends. He was 89.
Jack was born Sept. 23, 1924, and grew up in a farming community in East Moriches. He married Phebe Haggerty and they lived in Center Moriches for many years, raising their children. After Phebe’s death, Jack remained in Center Moriches before meeting his longtime love and companion of more than 20 years, Jean Tuthill who lives in Jamesport. (more…)
