PHOTO GALLERY: Wading River celebrates Duck Pond Day

Wading River’s annual Duck Pond Day brought the historic hamlet to life Sunday with food, music and a few old-fashioned touches.

First held in 1995, the popular street fair returned with support from the Duck Pond Society of Wading River and the Town of Riverhead.

This year’s celebration also included a quilt show inside the sanctuary of Wading River Congregational Church and colonial-era demonstrations at the Wading River Historical Society, where visitors could watch craftspeople practice printing, blacksmithing, spinning, weaving and traditional music.
