William C. Fedun of Calverton died Feb. 25 at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead. He was 95.

He was born March 21, 1919, in Mattituck to Michael and Helen Fedun. He married Jennie (née Bogdan) June 9, 1947, in Calverton.

Mr. Fedun was a farmer. For many years he served as chairman for St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church’s chicken barbecue.

Predeceased by his wife in 2011, Mr. Fedun is survived by his children, David, of Calverton, William Jr., of Ohio, and Karen, of Riverhead; his sister, Helen Joseph of Florida; and five grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors Sunday, March 1, from 2 to 6 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral service will take place at 10 a.m., Monday, March 2, at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Riverhead. Interment will take place at St. Isidore R.C. Cemetery in Riverhead.

Former Southampton resident Harry Jones of Riverhead died Jan. 25. He was 81.

Mr. Jones was born May 15, 1933, in Southampton to Archenetta Arrington Jones. He attended schools in Southampton, where he was on the football team. While in high school he worked at Shinnecock Golf Course.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1956. In 2013, he received a certificate for his U.S. military service.

After returning from the Army, Mr. Jones worked for Southampton Tire for 25 years. He was a member of Riverhead Masonic Lodge 91. Family members said he enjoyed living at John Wesley Village in Riverhead and later moved to Riverhead Care Center, where he was president of the Resident Care Council.

Family members said Mr. Jones made many friends during his lifetime, on his high school football team, at the golf course and at the care center. He enjoyed playing bingo and played the lottery daily, continuing to play at the care center, where his cousin would drop off tickets.

He is survived by his wife, Mary (née Davis); his son, Regan; his daughter, Brenda; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many other relatives. Arrangements were in the care of Seay Memorial Chapel in Riverhead.

Melissa Denna Brown of Riverhead died Feb. 12 at Peconic Bay Medical Center. She was 34.

She was born Jan. 13, 1981, on Long Island to Vanessa Brown and Charles Dalton.

Predeceased by her parents, and her sister Pearl, Ms. Brown is survived by her sisters Keisha Dalton of Middle Island and Joann Booker of Ridge; her brother, James Davender, also of Ridge; and many other family members.

Services took place Feb. 20 at Galilee Church of God in Christ in Riverhead, officiated by Pastor Dr. Roy Pennon Sr. Interment took place at Riverhead Cemetery.

Arrangements were in the care of Seay Memorial Chapel in Riverhead.
